All of these idioms mean the same thing in the context they are used. Blog your ideas of what that meaning is in the comment box. Use a complete sentence.
2. Who did it? Blog which character you are thinking that committed the crime and state your specific evidence.

Interactive Story Writing

Title: The Day Ms. Erickson Made Us Eat Our Science Experiment

One day, Ms. Erickson made us eat our science experiment. It tasted like lemon-line and pink lemonade. It was delicious. We were tasting crackers with peanut butter and cherrios. To Katelynn, it tasted like a Warhead. It looked like Hershey chocolate. It was weird. It all started when Ms. Erickson said she was making her famous witch stew. Ms. Erickson wanted to see how many bowls of stew we could eat at one time, kinda like a race. But first, Ms. Erickson had us put in our own ingredients. Some of the ingredients put in were Hershey chocolate covered cockroaches, punch, fruit, and milk. We were on the planet of Zawiggle. She added a newt's eye and a cow's brain. The worst part was when she made us all bring a toad in and boil it. Ms. Erickson made Ethan eat it first. Ethan didn't like it and he puked it back into the stew bowl. The smell of Ethan's puke traveled all the way down to the office, where Mr. Senitte smelled it and also puked. He had to go to the hospital. Ms. Erickson gave everybody a bowl to try, but it actually ended up being pineapple punch. Then planet Zawiggle's blew up and sent us back to Earth. Or so they think????? Oh, by the way, Ethan had Cherrios for breakfast that morning with Pink Lemonade instead of milk all with a squeeze of lime in it.

You may NOT use any type of resource besides your own brain on this one. Write your comment(s) in complete sentences.

Chapter One Assignments

1. Create a list of all the characters introduced in Chapter One. Write their name, full if possible, along with some character traits or job titles they hold in your Reflective Learning Journal. Make sure to skip a few lines between each character so you can add more details as you continue to read the story.
2. Select one character that you have a similar connection with. Comment on blog who that character is and how you are similar. Do the same with one that is different than you. State specific evidence for both your side and the novel character's side.
3. Create a commercial with your group about the new funeral parlor using the slogan written on page 6 with your group. Make sure that everyone in your group has a speaking part and that you are persuasive in trying to get customers to use the Bessledorf Funeral Parlor's services. Pitch the idea to Ms. Erickson without scripts. May the best advertising group win!
4. Create a family portrait of the Magruder family. Make sure to label the correct names with the correct individuals. The novel is very specific in telling you who is who in the book. Frame the portrait and turn into Ms. Erickson. Only Rules: No stick figures may be used and portrait must be in color. Be creative!
All assignments are due on Friday, January 9th after reading class ends.

Table of Contents Prediction

Using the Table of Contents, select a chapter that looks the most interesting to you. Write the title of the chapter you have selected and three complete reasons supporting your choice in your comment.

Front Cover Prediction

Using only the front cover prediction strategy, make a prediction based upon what you see. Your comment must be at least four complete sentences and must state evidence to why you are making that prediction. You do not have to comment on what you "think" is happening. Your predictions can be about anything on the cover that comes to your mind. Deep and out of the box thinking are encouraged. Remember to wordle out your first ideas in your brain!
